  so why is everyone not allowed to interpert successfully the holy writings?

  for what reason is the truth hidden from us?

  Why must the truth be hidden from us?

  If she said "taste of death" instead of "still be alive", and if she normally spoke in spiritual terms rather than literal it would be a different matter - that's an ill-fitting analogy

  Quite clearly, God here decrees that ........................

  You're simply putting forward a literalist view. and partial at that. because as Paul literally writes...... we know that the law is spiritual.. and .... real cicumcision is a matter of the heart, spiritual and not literal
  

  you shall not muzzle an oxen who is treading out the grain ..... do you think that God was concerned about the oxen ?

  It strikes me as bizarre to foretell something so soon in the future, by saying: "There be SOME standing here, which SHALL NOT TASTE OF DEATH, till they see the SON of man coming in his kingdom.

  "i was astonished that i had blindly let these people put the ideas in my head that god and the bible were, "absolute truth".

  i began doing some thinking on my own and my closest family and friends began telling me that i was "backslidden".

  i have become an outcast amongst people who said that they would always love me and who preach never ending forgiveness.

  please check out this website to get some ex-Christian perspectives on Christianity.

  I believe this is an ex-fundamentalist and literalist perspective (commonly of an American Right origin) of what occurs when someone becomes caught up in a self-righteous and judgemental group - Christianity being something different, but nevertheless touted by these same groups.

  seems quite resonable to me - like you put forward - some wouldn't even taste of death before he was back - sounds pretty soon

  A Paduan: When the story at Acts 5:5 says of Ananais: "( He ) Fell down and GAVE UP THE GHOST", its referring to his LITERAL death. When Jesus was killed, the account at Luke 23: 46, says: " He GAVE UP THE GHOST." Clearly, both Jesus AND Ananias are described as LITERALLY dying.

  How is it so clear ? - here's another ghost story
